WELCOME BACK!!!

Welcome back!!! Seems like it has been a long time since we last saw each other. Hope you enjoyed the "extra" two and 1/2 days off and had the opportunity to relax. It has also been a while since the Updater has been "updated". I apologize for this, but the last several weeks have been crazy in dealing with student issues and I simply have not made it priority to update my blog. As I have mentioned before, Mrs. Larsen will eventually take over the responsibility of updating the "student issue" sections of the Updater. In the meantime, when a student comes into ISS, whether temporary or for an extended assignment, Mrs. Larsen will send a general e-mail out to the staff explaining that is in ISS. If you have this student, please send work to the office as soon as is convenient.

DO YOU MOVE?
Physical activity is especially important during the middle level years to keep students engaged in learning. Check out the link below for physical activity ideas for the classroom.

TECHNOLOGY AND THE CLASSROOM
Click on the link below to read an article found in the January issue of the Wisconsin School Musician. Check it out. Yet another great example of the use of technology in the classroom. Maybe it will inspire you to produce a podcast of one of your favorite lessons and register it to itunes!

Note: Clicking on the link will open the article in Microsoft Word. If you have trouble opening the document...a copy of this article will soon be posted in staff bathrooms.

TEMPLE GRANDIN
A couple of days ago, Wisconsin Public Radio aired a program with guest Temple Grandin. Professor Grandin is an animal behaviorist and professor at Colorado State University. Professor Grandin is also autistic. I encourage you to listen to this amazing women. Here's the link: Temple Grandin Interview
