WORDS FROM THE AP

This is my first "official" AP UPDATER post. I will be using this same format in my daily posts for up to the minute (well maybe hour or several hours) information. Since this blog is not yet private...I will not be using any student names. If we are not set up for private viewing of the blog by the time I need to use names...I will send the UPDATER to you via e-mail. Hopefully, everyone will have created a Google account by the end of the week as shown by Adam at Friday's team meetings and then we can make this blog private with access only to professional staff.

Congratulations on a great start to the school year. The first week went extremely well. I credit this to you, the high quality, professional staff that I am so fortunate to work with.

I could tell that adjustment to a school routine and the extreme heat last week was starting to "bring out" some unwanted student behaviors. Most of these behaviors were manage through your classroom management plans which I thank you for following. If you have not submitted your classroom management plan to me yet, please do so by the end of the week.

Patti Hubbard and Denice Adams (welcome Denice - afternoon ISS supervisor) have been working has getting the Honor Level System ready. We should be set to go by the middle of the week. We have had three infractions issue already. Those infractions have not gone into the system yet, but I have spoken with those students and they have served either a lunch recess detention with me in the cafeteria, or some other appropriate consequence. I will give more detail on lunch detentions in a future post.

Have a great day!
