WORDS FROM THE AP

It's Tuesday! Have you tried some of the new lunch offerings. I've have had a couple of the en trees and have been very pleased. Chartwells is still working out a few "kinks", but overall I have been impressed with the quality of the food and the efficiency of the food service staff. The number of students eating "hot lunch" has already increased compared to this time last year...which is a positive for everyone (except maybe parent's checkbooks). Give Chartwells a try if you haven't already!

Remember those spoons I made available last year for lunch time classroom passes. Well...I've done away with the spoons and printed "Lunch Classroom Passes." These are available in the main office workroom above the mailboxes. Take as many as you need. I think these will be more simple to use...Simply fill out the student's name and their destination during lunch. This will help the cafeteria supervisors with crowd control and hopefully prevent students from wandering around the building unsupervised. Thanks for your cooperation with this.

There was a great program on Wisconsin Public Radio at 5:00p.m. yesterday. Author Johnathon Mooney takes us on a trip around the country to visit a number of young adults who, like him, are living with disabilities and are challenging and enriching their communities. This program should be archived and available for online listen at www.wpr.org. Click on "Audio Archives," then click on "Ben Merens" and click "Listen to" next to the Monday, 09/10/2007 5:00p.m. show. I encourage you to listen to this program during a portion or your team time or at your leisure.

Thanks for your participation in last night's open house. We had a great turnout. It was refreshing to see all the parents here supporting what we do. Way to go!!!

Have a great day!
