INFRACTIONS AND MORE!

Good Monday morning to you!

REMINDER - When writing infractions, please include a written description of the infraction on the back of the infraction slip. Parents often call me or Linda Larsen asking for more details on infractions. If a written description is on the back, we can easily look up the infraction and explain the details to the parent. If there are no details written, we will direct the parent to the staff member who wrote the infraction. Additionally, we are able to type in "notes" for each infraction in the HLS system, so that when we print out an Honor Level Report on an individual student, the details of each infraction will also be printed.

If you are not using the STUDENT DISCIPLINE BULLETIN of this blog...check it out!!! We have added even more information. Please remember that this information is confidential and it should be used in a professional manner. (find password in separate e-mail). Also, when you see Linda, say "thanks." It takes a lot of organization to put the STUDENT DISCIPLINE BULLETIN together, especially when there are students in ISS.

If you have not already done so, don't forget to review the instructions for entering OFFICE BEHAVIOR REFERRALS into skyward (see post below).

The Discipline Committee will meet this Thursday, September 25th at 7:15am in the Conference Room. Anyone is welcome to join us. We will be reviewing the Student Discipline Survey Data. If your team has not submitted that information that I requested, please do so by 3:00pm on Wednesday, September 24th. The following is copy of the original request by e-mail:

"At this morning's discipline committee meeting we discussed what 3-5 rules are needed for the entire building and how they can be consistently enforced by all staff. Please discuss this with your entire team during team planning time. I ask that each team to report back to me via e-mail with the following:

1. List 3-5 "rules" that your feel need and can be consistently enforced by all staff.

2. List consequences for each "rule". In other words...if a student does not follow one of these rules...what happens? This does not necessarily mean an infraction or detention or time on the wall. For example. One rule that I feel everyone agreed on at this morning's meeting was: "Students may not leave the classroom (or be in the hallways) at anytime without their planner. If everyone enforces this, the consequence would simply be that the student does not get the privilege to leave the room for any reason."

Have a great Week!
